About Us

In 1979, Neal Smith started working in his father’s cabinet shop when he was 10 years old and has been involved in the kitchen and bath business since. Neal became plant manager of his father’s shop in 1989 and remained until 2007 when Neal’s older brother assumed this position. Neal is now senior designer & project manager as well as in charge of research & development for his father’s shop (now a 20 man custom shop).Neal is also owner and President of Neal Smith Designs & More which he established in September of 1999. Neal started his company primarily doing freelance kitchen & bath design work.

At this same time Neal and his older brother ran a race team together. They would build their own car chassis and do their own metal fabrication. Neal developed a love for working with metal and welding. After several bad racing accidents Neal decided to quit racing. Now with more time Neal decided to increase the product offerings of Neal Smith Designs & More to include refacing and custom wood turnings. Neal really missed working with metal and wished he could find a way to work with it again. He had a lot of experience building cabinet doors as he had headed up the door dept in his father’s shop for several years. He decided to purchase equipment that would allow him to put ornamental iron in cabinet doors. He started to make his iron panels for doors on some of the cabinetry for his fathers’ customers. Soon other customers seen the panels and as they say, the rest is history. Neal has continually added to his ironwork capabilities buying equipment and making his own equipment to allow him make his creative designs. Every iron design begins with a hand drawing by Neal, then it begins a long process to become a product presented by Neal Smith Designs & More. Neal now is ready to offer his products to other kitchen & bath designers, cabinet shops and homeowners. We hope you enjoy our products and we look forward to hearing from you.
